Our Journey

Let's rewind to the beginning—a time when, like many of you, I embarked on the path of pediatric therapy with determination and a thirst for knowledge. Transitioning from a school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) to the pediatric medical realm felt like a natural progression, driven by a passion to specialize and find my footing.

Guided by mentors, I honed my focus on feeding and myofunctional therapy, believing it to be the key to success. However, reality had its own plans. Each day brought new cases, each diverse and challenging in its own right, leaving me feeling overwhelmed at times. Despite my dedication and countless hours of study, uncertainty crept in, leading to moments of frustration, burnout and exhaustion.

The Birth of The Pediatric Source

It was amidst these struggles that the idea for The Pediatric Source began to take shape. Reflecting on my journey and connecting with fellow therapists, including pediatric occupational therapists and physical therapists, I realized that our challenges were shared. There was a clear need for a platform that could address the gaps in traditional education, providing support and resources for pediatric speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists alike.
